HURRAY Lucy!

Last week Lucy had an appointment with her Nutritionist. In one month, Lucy had gained 1 lb. & grew an inch! This officially put her back on the Down Syndrome Height chart!! Her Nutritionist has been really impressed with her progress since she began eating real food. So much so, in fact, that she decided that she no longer needs to visit with Lucy! YEAH!! We are so relieved, because there have been some really scary moments with Lucy and food. I will miss Ms. Cathy, but it feels good to mark her off our schedule!

Rhys and Ms. Schuch

On the first day of school Rhys' attitude got better. Think Little Man was nervous at the thought of Ethan not being at the same school. Then he realized that nothing had changed for him, so he was happy!

Back to School!!

So here we are, the first day of school. Let me tell you Ethan was up and ready, Rhys not so much. Ethan is going to rock the 3rd grade, and he has his very first male teacher, Mr. Ferrante. Rhys is in Ms. Schuh's class, and she has this cool piece of technology in her room called a Promethean Board. This thing is awesome, it looks like a giant white board, and it is totally interactive. The kids can "write" on it, and Ms. Schuh can put a quiz up on it and the students all have their own remote controls that they can answer questions with and the computer records their grades!! Kind of like being in a gameshow. It is going to be a great year!

2 Weeks and Counting

In two weeks, the boys will be starting school. Summer is a wily thing. You start out thinking you have all the time in the world, and you slip into summer slack mode. Then before you know it you are looking at a calendar and you only have 2 weeks left, and so many things that you haven't done yet!! And honestly I don't want them to go back to school. Do they bicker and fight and drive me crazy? YES! Are they eating me out of house and home? YES! But in the end they belong with me, and I miss them when they are gone. SO with that being said, we are going to jam fun into everyday we have left. We are going to swim, play with our cousins, go to Schlitterbahn, tour Blue Bell, celebrate Dad's b-day, and hang with Grandpa!! And after all that, maybe sending them back to school won't be so hard! I'll be too exhausted to be sad, at least for a while! So make it a great one everyone, and squeeze the life out of summer!

Evil Kneevil

Both boys are into stunts. They found a big ramp at a garage sale, and you know they bought it for just $2! They have been jumping off of it all week. However Rhys is sometimes the more fearless of the two. Took them to a pool with a high jump, and little man ran out there and did a flip off it! It was pretty awesome to witness, and I can't believe I forgot my camera! The smile on his face was as big as Dallas, especially when the lifeguard gave him a thumbs up! Good thing we have decent insurance, because I have a feeling we are going to need it.

Funny note: the lifeguards rotate positions, and the newer lifeguard turned Rhys away and made him do a swim test first. I guess he missed the flip.

Rhys the Red Pirate

This week Rhys decided to give up his regular life and become a full time pirate. Part of this includes wearing an eye patch & bandanna, carrying a sword, and all around Pirate stuff. Before I went to bed, I went to check on the boys and found this....
